Tariff charges

A sustainable water tariff is fundamentally designed to encourage water conservation and efficient usage, while also funding the infrastructure needed for effective water management.

Tariff Summary

Effective from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, the following water tariffs have been established under the To Tatou Vai Act 2021:

  • Commercial Customers: Defined as those who are or should be VAT registered for the land supplied with water.

  • Agricultural Use: No tariffs will apply for agricultural use without an electrical connection this year due to the need for more data and the reliance on the Te Aponga database for invoicing.

  • Payment Terms: Invoices will be issued in early November, with payment due by November 20.

  • Domestic Rate: Churches, community halls, and schools will be billed at the domestic rate.
