THANK YOU RAROTONGA

We would like to thank everybody in our community for making the effort to conserve water in the past couple of months. It has been a very challenging time for some households in inland areas across the island who have been affected by the dry period and lack of water in the streams that feed into our water network.

The recent rain is a great relief and has topped up our intake catchment streams and we hope that water pressure is now reaching into those affected areas. We are hopeful that forecasts for more rain over the next day or so and mid to late week eventuates to help recharge our streams and ground water.

If you are inland and on elevated ground, now is a good time to consider rainwater catchment and storage options to strengthen your home supply. Rain is never guaranteed to fall regularly and much more is needed to replenish our mountain streams fully. To that end, we would like to encourage everybody to keep water conservation front and centre of our minds.

Water looks after us lets look after water
