WATER MAIN SHUT - AVATIU INTAKE

With ongoing works by the contractor to upgrade the Avatiu Valley sub-mains, the intake trunk mains will be shut for around 4 hours tomorrow Thursday 30 September between 8am to 2pm. The purpose of the shut is to test and flush the newly laid sub-mains before it is livened to supply residents in Avatiu Valley. Eventually when completed this will bring a much improved water supply to the area.

Please be advised, residents in Avatiu Valley and along Atupa back road to Nikao that you may experience low to nil pressure at times. We don’t anticipate a prolonged disruption of supply and water will be diverted from other catchments to minimise impact.
